Emily Reyst is the director of communications and training at the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM).
She is responsible for developing communication strategies that advance CEDAM's efforts to foster a resilient and equitable community development network in Michigan. This includes building influence around policy issues through media outreach; equipping CEDAM members with industry tools and information through email, web, and social media; publication development; and member outreach and storytelling.
Additionally, Emily oversees CEDAM's real estate development program, equipping interested and experienced real estate developers with the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to develop affordable housing in Michigan. This includes the execution of two signature CEDAM trainings: Real Estate Development Boot Camp and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit training.
Prior to joining CEDAM in 2017, Emily managed communications for the Women's Center of Greater Lansing, an organization committed to helping women achieve financial and emotional stability. She now serves on the Board of Directors. Emily received her Bachelor of Arts in professional writing from Michigan State University.
Emily currently lives in Detroit, MI and enjoys everything the city has to offer— great music, delicious food, and strong community. She is an avid traveller, devoted concert-goer, and a budding gardener (pun intended!).
