Terrhonda Hudson is the owner of Hudson Consulting LLC Based in Chicago, IL. It helps organizations extend its reach into the community by creating opportunities, leveraging resources, creating partnerships through events and community engagement, marketing, public relations, and all media outlets. Terrhonda has the privilege of working closely with many communities’ advocacy groups and organizations such as the Far South Chicago Coalition, Chicago Action Council and CPD 5th District Advisory Committee and other community- based organizations throughout the city.
Currently she is overseeing the Outreach and Capacity Building at the Chicago Rehab Network(CRN) as the CRN point person for implementing outreach and capacity building initiatives/activities for the Chicago Rehab Network. This position intentionally interweaves program implementation and the defining role communications have for social change advocacy and CRN’s sustainability. Accountable for managing and collaborating with both existing capacity building initiatives and to create opportunities programmatically. She leads the refinement, delivery and expansion of CRN’s voice, reputation, and leadership in the field. In addition, planning events, cultivate donors and solicit new donors for event sponsorships.
Terrhonda Chairs the Housing Committee as an advisory board member of the Far South Chicago Coalition which has partnered with LISC to create the Quality-of-Life Plan for the south side of Chicago. Terrhonda worked at Mercy Housing Lakefront, as the Regional Events and Volunteer Coordinator. Mercy Housing Lakefront provides affordable housing at 52 properties across the Midwest region: Illinois, Indian and Wisconsin. During her five years as the Events and Volunteer Coordinator, Terrhonda planned events and managed volunteers for the entire region, supervising over 500 volunteers each year and planning the organization’s two largest fundraising events.
She has also worked with Chicago’s LGBTQ community at Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance (Bonaventure House), which provides housing for individuals who were homeless and living with HIV/AIDS. During her five years at Alexian Brothers, Terrhonda advanced from Resource Development Coordinator to Manager of Development and Outreach with responsibilities spanning volunteer coordination, event planning, outreach, and staff supervision.
Terrhonda nonprofit experience has also included two terms as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs and as a Resource Development Coordinator with Southstar Services which serves individuals with developmental disabilities.
Prior to entering the nonprofit field, she worked as a Field Producer at WFLD-Fox Chicago for five years. Terrhonda is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism.
In addition to her professional experience, Terrhonda has a heart for the homeless population and the continued desire to help individuals and families who are in need through personal donations and volunteer service. She is a resident in the Roseland community, along with her husband, Frank Hudson, and a son who attends Chicago Public Schools Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory High School.
